The old blacksmith shop still stands today. These photos were taken a few years ago when quite a bit of work was still performed in the shop. The shop was supervised for many years by Louis C. Drost.
This shop was a mini-manufacturing and repair facility. Almost all of the ranch equipment was repaired in this shop. All ranch vehicles had brush guards and heavy duty bumpers built and installed in this shop.
Occasionally, some equipment was manufactured here, like the time in the early 70's when several multi-row fertilizer applicator machines were built under the guidance of Mr. Leonard Dearman.
